I used a little metal unit, which was pretty cheap anyway so no need to go for the plastic one I recon. I'm trying to upload some photos, but the iPad names them and I've already uploaded a similar name, can't work out how to change the photo name on the iPad so I'll have to send it via a 'proper' pc.

I sometimes have a crew that snores really badly so we put him with his head near the pump. When it get unbearable one of us will go to the loo & run the pump. Never fails to wake him up & give us a few minutes silence. Single handed sailing really does have some advantages
I did have a flojet pump & it was definitely noisier than my new Jabsco one. I also do not overtighten the mounting screws through the rubber feet Edited by samuel - 24 November 2015 at 18:36 |

Hello Marcopone,
I had the Marco pump installed, and now there is an ongoing noise every other minute. We checked everywhere to find a leak, but we did not find anything yet. Is there a special way to fit this Marco pump, the shipyard did not use? Thanks in advance! D |

Hallo Boomjack,
I assume you did not have this issue with the previous original Jabsco pump..? My Marco pump is installed in horizontal position in another location and @ a lover level than original shipyard location. I never had this issue. I remember that the pump has a bolt to discharge some air when priming for first time or after it run out of water. In any case, to understand if you have a leak in the circuit or if the pump itself is losing pressure, you should install a ball valve before the pump inlet. After the pump has pressurized the system you shut the valve. If the pump does not start then the problem is within the pump.. There could be some dirt who prevent the complete closure of the non return valve integrated in the pump. Marco Edited by marcopone - 09 May 2016 at 10:40 |

Hi Marcopone,
Thanks for your info, it seems that we have a leak. I just asked the shipyard to control and test everywhere it could be! After intensive research they told me It could probably come from the main tank. I'll keep you posted.... Hope to solve this one soon, since I will be sailing towards Portugal in less than 2 weeks, now! Many many thanks! |

hallo boomjack,
..but if your problem is the pump who start to pressurize the system every other minute, the leak has to be in the circuit AFTER the pump a leak in the main water tank other in the supply line to the pump should not cause this problem |

. . . . or in the pump itself, possibly the non return valve(s).

dear all,
we already replaced the stern shower o ring, since the were leaking. Marcopone your e right the leak has to be on the water exit and not from main tank. we will also try to replace the pump to see if it s not defectuous. I'll let you know the end of the Saga.... Best, |
