Thank you Rabato for this information. I'm not looking for a racing boat but not a slow boat either. We like the hanse. So to see

Bonjour

The same in my English

I have a 2004 312 with full Jefa steering system

When I bought M'Enfin i saw a hole on the upper part of the rudder

I did not have the time to do a full repair, so I just filled in the hole

This winter I had a look at the rudder "repair" It was all soft and a piece of 10X5cm rudder remained in my hand

I drilled holes in the rudder and water flow out more than 6h
I dismounted the rudder, cutted the upper part
The foam was rotten on more than 20cm (black and wet)
I emptied the rudder till i-the foam was dry (25cm)
I waited 2 morte months before starting to repair
I dried the inside 24h with an electric heater

As I did not wan to "refill" it with foam, I used a special pool 2 component resine

Last month, the boat was again on a dry dock, I saw that water was again flowing 15cm lower than my repair

I hope I'm an exception. The problkem is that very few boat owners are looking at this and are just adding some AF once a year on the rudder

hi,
I have a Hanse 341 with a deep keel and Kiwi feathering prop.
I sail on the River Clyde and have a CYCA handicap rating.
Initially, I had a self tacking jib but this was terrible for racing.
The self tacking jib leaves the boat very unbalanced and spins up into wind very quickly. If you hold your course the rudder has heavy weather helm and consequent rudder drag on the water.
I removed the jib and fitted a 1/2 Genoa, this made a huge difference.
I have a cruising chute but this is no good for racing.

Performance wise it holds its own on the beat, good on the reach and running.
Hanse have not considered racing and are not helpful on boat tuning.
Fit lots of tweety bits to your sail trim, it makes a difference.
The cockpit is relatively small for more than 4 crew. Crew members should sit out anyway except your winch grinders.
I moved the main sheet track to the cockpit and this helps with trimming and releasing the main.
A pole is required for running goosewinged.
So far I have not achieved my handicap yet.

As a cruising boat, it is very solid and safe. Deck area has reasonable access and anchoring is a safe activity.
Down below is excellent with the exception of a 2metre centre berth.
Galley and navigation areas are good. No thinking by Hanse about a waste bin!
All my lights are led now and this makes the cabin light during the dark hours.
Wheel steering is positive and easily handled.
Mooring up at marinas is a long stretch for your legs, so fit a portable step.
I also built and fitted a swimming platform to the transom and this makes life easier when anchored up. Good for the dog too!

Hopes this helps.
