I am having problems with the rotary dial on my Zeus2. This has started to become non-responsive. It needs to be turned many times to trigger any action. The knob turns smoothly for several turns before you feel very slight "clicks" as the dial engages. I have removed the black dial and can see that the post it sits on is only protruding from the housing by a few millimetres. I can pull this further out with long nose pliers but the action of replacing the dial just pushes it back again. It is almost as it there should be a retaining circlip to keep the post in position, however there is no evidence of this. Has anyone else experienced similar? |

You have a 3 year guarantee from b&g.
My zeus 2 is currently in repair for a malfunctioning on off button under that guarantee. Now i have a spare zeus 3. All buttons are changed by design on the zeus 3. Regards chris |

Thanks Chris.
I am just within the 3 year period! Did you deal with B&G direct or via your dealer? Did you purchase the new Zeus3 or is this on loan while your own unit is being repaired? |

Hi,
mine, Zeus Touch ², button is a bit noisy when turning and the selections on the screen jumps all the time to far, accuracy is not OK. Than you turn back and it jumps 2 items higher or not at all. So i do not use it any more and use ( most where possible ) the touch screen. Product failure ?? Serial Failure on this device ?? |

Best regards

B&G have accepted this as a warranty item and will look at it when I return to the UK in late June.

I have been searching for information on this issue and i came across this forum and this topic.
My problem was slightly different, our little one was playing around with the nob and it came loose when we try to push it back on the metal part went in and disappeared. I tried to pull it back from the tiny hole but i couldn’t locate it. Before making any attempts to fix it i called the distributor to get assistance. He said i had to ship to him via courier however it carries the risk of being damaged on the way. Its a 5yo system and out warranty so i took the leap of faith and started dismantling the device. First i removed it from the dash which it was sitting in and removed all the bolts. Remove the cap and there it was the part which fell in to the box. Seeing the threds on the part and through the hole it was sitting in i thought i had to screw it in to fix its position however it was the case. I realised one of the cables were broken, so i use soldering to fix it on to the circut. However because I thought it had to screw in i pulled the whole thing apart. Please dont do this! As i opened a whole can of worms :( it has 4 little metal arms tocuhing on to the surface of the small rotary board which communicates information when the nob is turned. I managed to straighten the arms and made sure they we all touchin the board correctly. You can connect the device and check if its working correctly. After fixing the issue on the little board i had to fix thepart in place so it doesn’t fall back in. There are no clips no screws and no guide on B&G website. I used solvent base glue to stick the part in place and made sure i fix the nob on the rotary pin with the same glue. Once everything is in place i manged to put eveything back in place and put it back in to the dash. My overall experience was extremely scary as i relie on luck! Its pity that there is limited information about B&G Zeus 3 on the net. Here are some photos. Edited by jazzgir - 25 April 2020 at 17:11 |

jazzgir-
wow - I just found your post while searching for any info on this issue myself. I pretty much have the exact same challenge on my 12” Zeus 2 (on a Beneteau 41.1). how did this end up?
I am so glad I did not dismantle the switch - just dealing with putting it back after it slipped into the hole. However I have been experiencing a lot of odd behavior like it skipping over some icons as I turn the knob. Any idea how it is intended to stay in place? Seems odd we would need to glu it. thanks Edited by enm58 - 21 September 2020 at 17:30 |
