Splendid day on the water yesterday until the daftest manoeuvre I have ever performed.I was going round and round in circles waiting for marina lock to open. Managed to run over my forward mooring line and catch it in the prop.Because the mooring line was beautifully draped over the guardrail the propeller pulled the mooring line so hard and so quick it lifted the front of the pulpit away from the deck.
Managed to free the line but now the front of the pulpit is detached from the deck.
There is a threaded protrusion from the deck which evidently screws up into the front pole of the pulpit.
Any idea where I can get a replacement part or even a drawing ?
Has anybody done this or similar. Can that part be removed - presumably from anchor locker or forward berth ?
Any help gratefully appreciated.

From Memory when I removed our pulpit.

It is attached by two bolts that run into welded threaded inserts in each of the rear feet of the pushpit. Heads of thru deck 8mm bolts are in forward cabin between lining and hull side.

The front central leg is in fact a hollow tube threaded on the outside (M10 or M12 can't remember?) It is has a large nut and washer inside the anchor locker and was welded on under the cross bar of the pulpit. This is a very weak affair and has probably sheared off. It is hollow to allow the cable for your nav light to run from the anchor locker to the light.

You have two options.

Remove all parts of the pulpit and have it welded together and replaced and resealed next winter.

Or a temporary repair by:

Fit a length of stainless threaded bar that will hold the bits together for now. This is done by:

Drilling straight  through the top and the bottom of the cross bar after removing the cable to the nav light and the teak step.

Fit the bar through the drilled hole and down into the Anchor locker through the hollow tube. Fit a washer and nut on the inside of the locker at the bottom and onto the top of the cross bar tighten it up and then cut the threaded bar at the top flush with the nut. You will have to reroute the cable for the nav light preferably through a deck cable gland (permanent rerouting)or just extend the cable temporarily and have it coming through the opening lid of the anchor locker if you want to keep to original design.

You might consider modifying the pulpit mounting to include welding the threaded bar permanently as the as fitted design is very weak at the front with that single mounting.

Ours leaked badly at the both rear mountings causing damp steaks in the front cabin hull  linings cured by using a permanently flexible mastic sealant

I don't claim to be the expert!   See Here........
