Can anyone help.

I bought my 470 at the beginning of September.  The bow thruster stopped working and on looking at the bow thruster the boat has been fitted with a 24 volt bowthruster when she is a 12 volt boat. Somebody has linked two 12 volt batteries to give the 24 volt required to run the bow thruster but there is no means of charging the 24 volt battery.

Jackie,
you must have surely a device charging the 24 Volt bank. Batteries have a tendency ( you can not beat chemical physics ) loosing their charge if they are not topped up regularly.
Maybe the charging cables are not connected directly at the battery, so look for "strange" cables (and fuse ) at the thruster.
What is the current voltage level measured directly at the thruster batt bank ? Cheap batt chargers have a tendency to fail or somebody might have blown a fuse. Did it work when you took the boat over a month ago?

Look left a bit higher than the Victron Battery charger a small Victron Battery to Battery charger 12v/24v 360watt
do the charging of the 24v bank for the bowtruster
Under this device in the fusebox there is a 30amp fuse
360w/24V =30amp this fuse will be broken after a long charging time.
There are no bigger fuses who fit in to this box so I placed a bigger fuse 40amps next to the box
No problems any more
