I can’t work out how to connect the tack of the sail to the gooseneck... according to my manual it’s a z-spars rig - I’ll attached a pic, could someone have a look and let me know if this looks the same as theirs please?

Turn the pin that goes down through the gooseneck round so that the hole where you have the split pin is at the top. Then put a shackle with its pin through the hole instead of a split pin. It may be that the last owner lost the original pin, you may have to get a new pin. If you cannot source one ( I have not looked on line), You could buy a bolt of the required length & diameter & drill a hole in it to take the shackle. If you get a long shackle you will be able to get the clew of the sail into it.

One further point. If you do use a bolt then drill the hole up a bit so that you can get a nyloc nut on below the hole. Then you can make the hole a bit bigger for a bigger shackle. Then if the pin sheared through the hole you do not loose the gooseneck, only the shackle fixing & that can be easily sorted, even at sea. It also stops the pin dropping out when you are taking the sail off & have to remove the shackle for a few minutes.
