Hi, Has anyone used, or own a Parasailor? I have recently bought one off EBay when really I was looking for another A-symmetric. I have seen them on other boats and now watched quite a few videos on YouTube, but not used one personally. I bought it on spur of the moment I guess, and happy with decision as it’s worth a go for this season at least. Just wondered if anyone has any tips for flying on a 385. Thanks

I have a wingaker for my 315. Very similar to parasailot. Great sail. Need a clear on lower potion of mast to control and secure the lines controlling the snuffer. You can see my sail here https://youtu.be/7uWWZgehPbU

Yes, I do have one on my 385.
Would not like to miss it anymore.

I am using each 2 sheets on each side, one mainly for pulling the luff down via the middle clamp and from there to the Cockpit, the other outside going all the way to the stern.

The advantage of this sail is that you won‘t need a spi boom and it is rather forgiving.

Do you also have the tacker ? This is a half circle plastic cover, going round your furled Fock and connecting either port or starboard luff, disengaging the appropriate sheets for coarses up to 90 deg. Don‘t forget to set a line downwards, e.g. to the bow cleat, otherwise it will move upwards. And not to the anchor bow, unless you fix the bow downwards.

I was told that one should expect forces on the sheets and the tacker well in excess of 10,000 N (1 ton) range, so better use appropriate quality.

Enjoy the sail!

Best

Thanks Ralph, just what I wanted to hear. We haven’t got the tacker, but I think we can manage without for now. If you have more pictures of your Parasail in action I’d love to see.
Many thanks Adrian
