Hello mystudio,

Do you have any new experiences about the new setup and the racing capability of your boat?

Thank you in advance!

Does it work, all modifications? Well, it sure is fast:

It would be interesting to know what wind strength, and direction plus what tide and direction.
I ask because if i read that right 4.4 miles in 37.81 minutes is an average of 6.98 kts. ( still pretty good). The 9 kts may be top speed but if it was under big reaching sails and with some tide that is a lot of expense for little improvement

It sure is a lot of expenses for little improvements. No doubt about that. And does it all work? Still not sure and still figuring out all. The 9.1 was indeed top speed surfing. Without a wave that speed is impossible for a 32 feet imo. There is no tide on this lake, so, that was not the case. However, there was a good breeze (around 20 knots), and it was with the new HA, not with the gennaker or spinnaker. Wind was around 70-110 degrees AWA at that time of the peek.

Is it worth all the money and effort? It depends. I like to improve and for club racing you need this setup. For cruising I  would prefer the self tacking jib, it's so damn handy. I previously didn't have spinnaker experience so I'm still in the learning cycle of getting the most out of the spi, but, downwind the spi should be an improvement if compared to the 95% of 106% headsail.
