Hi all,

I searched the forum and didn't find this topic - forgive me if I am missing it. Currently looking at a Hanse 370, used, with the 30 HP engine. I've identified a few issues, like corrosion on the engine, a deck leak which drains into the head (convenient), a split or crack on the aft end of the keel bulb.

Any advice, issues to look for, etc would be hugely appreciated.
Many thanks!

Heik

Hi Heik, welcome to this Hanse forum.
I'm Captain Cook, ancient member.
Recently I have made a few comments on new members (You have now been a member for just more than 5 hours), and their listing af all the bad things about our Hanse boats. I have mentioned trolls, and I may have said something like "Fake News from an anonymous Bavaria-dealer" (change "Bavaria" to any brand you like better).
You postulate, that you have used the search function - that may be so, but I believe, that the first lesson you will need is to learn to use the search function correctly.

Try this: Left click on Captain Cook (You need to be logged in) and then "Find Members posts", and you will find the last 100 of  my wise comments. There may even be a few critical ones.
One of my latest posts shows a recommendation to new and old members alike: Tell us the name and production number of your boat, and if you are a owner-to-be, tell a little about where you come from, and maybe which boat you own now, and her name. As I have stated before, an anonymous member with no personal information whatsoever, is a troll in my universe.
( A suspected troll gave an authors name, but no more details, maybe I were too suspicious? -Was she really an author?)

But Heik, even before you have enlightened us with a few personal informations, I will help you with information that hopefully will make you a fellow Hanse-owner in the near future.
I am the proud owner  of a Hanse 400, which is a Hanse 370 grown up:-)

The search function is a goldmine of informations, if you want information an a 370, you can search there, but "All Forums" and "Chit chat" can also be used.
Remember to choose "advanced search" and "Any date" (In find posts), then you will get the latest 100 posts in any subject you choose.
If you find my reply a little on the ironic side, just tell me a little more about yourself, and I may give you a sincere apology.

Most Hanse owners are proud of their boats, that must count for something?

Thanks! I am in Boston (US, not UK) and bringing her home might be an adventure. But I do enjoy Hamburg, so if I'm lucky enough to be in the area I will stop by.

Heik, Capt Cook's suggestions are a direct but spot on.  There is a wealth of info on this forum and it's members are extraordinarily helpful.  That said, I own a 2006 Hanse 370e, Hull #9, purchased new. So, this is my 14th season (if I'm counting correctly) cruising and racing my Hanse.  If you provide the info Capt Cook suggested and also let us know how you plan to use your boat (cruising? racing? both?) I'm sure you will be greeted with a wealth of info.

Hi Heik
"How do I change my forum settings"
Just click at "FAQ" at the top of this page, and you'll be able to publish any detail on your profile.
Again welcome to this magnificient forum - I hope you'll be a Hanse owner soon.
And again to all you members who are almost anonymous - Show us a little about your boat on your profile.
Greetings
