Found this in my Hanse 325 aft locker: standard installation of gas pipe and exhaust pipe had been making close friendship for 8 years... 5..6 mm had been worn off from the exhaust pipe. Not good.

Check yours. Don't wait the end result of this relationship!

Shocked

Hi!

Thanx for the info. What did you do to fix this? Did you isolate the gas pipe or did you move the route of the gas pipe?

Although my exhaust does not pass near the gas pipes it was not secured between the hill fitting and the run into the engine.
It flopped around like crazy with every pulse of exhaust water.  I could hear it banging away and when K investigated found s small trail of crumbled rubber from the pipe.
This was only a week or two after commissioning.  I strapped it up to avoid chafe and it has been fine since then.

Thanx. I had it checked today and found the same problem in my boat. It was not much chafing but enough to make me change the set up. It was an easy fix with one strap. Thanx for this letting us know about this problem. So much better to fix this at an early stage 😊
