We have a FP 10000i,8,0 kW.We have a situation were after 60-90 minutes it shuts off with code 31 ''inverter overload''......
In operators manual, it states to remove some loads. This happens wether we are running water maker, washing machine and more or even when we are only charging batteries.
I assume that when it says ''inverter overload'',it refers to the PMGI inverter and not the Mastervolt inverter ?
How do we remove loads from inverter?
When we start gen set,we turn knob for generator on panel and then ensure that master volt charger turns on......I am doing this right?

Fifteen-twenty minutes later we can resume for another 60-90 minutes.

If someone can show us proper procedure or help us with problem.

Marc,

We have the same size generator in our 575 and have not had any problems with overload. We often run the washing machine and two battery chargers ( 2 x 120amp/3000W Victron units) as well as other 230V equipment at the same time. The 10000 should provide up to around a maximum of 45 amps at 230V with a continuous output of up to 40 amps. All the loads you refer to run on a 10 amp circuit so running one or two or three of these items at the same time should be possible. The generator supplies varying voltage due to the drive engine speed. The inverter unit takes this raw voltage and produces a steady 230V at 50hz. I assume you have either a problem with the inverter unit associated with the generator or a problem with the drive motor which is not providing enough power possibly due to a fuel or other problem external to the generator. I suggest you have a technician experienced with inverter style generators check your generator (and the inverter).

I also have the same unit on my 588. 2 years with no problems.  Wayne’s World is correct on the output capacity and operation.  The fact the your unit will function normally for a period of time, then stop, and then resume suggests a heat related overload. There is a cooling fan on the unit. See if you can observe whether it is working. It may be bad.

if you reed the 31 code on the Panda control panel it mains there is a problem with the PGMI inverter.
The PGMI reduce the 400V from the gen to 230V AC. You can messure the loads on the 230v side with a Amps monitor and looks what happend when you increase the loads one by one and control the simultary increasing RPM of the Panda on the control board. If the RPM not increased there can by a problem with the RPM actuator of the gen and he will not take care of enough power to be suplied to the PGMI.
On the Victron Quattro inverter-charger we can run a program(VE conf) on the PC to monitor constantly the loads on the generator and the shore power, and how many there is going to the AC circiut and to the battery charger.

Problem fixed!!!!SmileSmile

When we got back to boat, we started analyzing the temperature of inverter (from control) and realized that FP would stop when inverter would be at 56 C.

We were in contact with Maurizio Gatti (Fischer Panda Italy)......through wich we diagnosed that the fan on PGMI was not coming on.
PGMI was removed and sent to FP for repairs.
Two weeks later, its back on boat and fully functioning.

Problem was defective fan and control within PGMI.
