I think a previous owner has messed with the gas/lng installation in my 341. Can someone post a photo of a correct installation? i am mostly interested in photos from inside the aft storage compartment showing how the pipe is entering the box, and a picture from the inside of the box.

I am afraid I don’t have anything inside the stern locker, but these are from the gas locker on my 350. Apart from replacing the rubber pipes I believe it is original.

Unfortunately, under the current situation I cannot travel up to my yacht in Scotland.  Do you have a photo of your installation, preferable with and without the cylinder present, and I will work from memory as to whether it looks the same as mine.

This is how it looks from the stern compartment. I dont have a picture from inside the gas box but my major concern is how to get rid of the hose and enter the gas box with the pipe directly

Now I have seen your picture, I have reread the question, so I can see the problem is not in the gas cylinder box.

There is definitely no loop of hose on my yacht.  I think the metal pipe goes to a through-the-bulkhead fitting and then a rubber pipe is fastened on to it in the gas locker in a similar manner to 350Bob in order to connect to the gas regulator.

I can't see from the photo, but does that rubber hose just go through a hole into the gas cylinder locker?  If it does, I am sure that is definitely incorrect, as it means the gas locker is not prevented from leaking gas into the yacht.

yes i thought so, one previous owner used a 5 kilo gas bottle in the aft storage locker and was probably not to worried about gas in boats.. I am going to replace the hose with the one below which i found after massive amount of googling. It will allow me to enter the box with the pipe in one end and a hose in the other.

Good.  The rubber hose in the gas locker has to be a reasonable length so you can get a 907 gas cylinder out and then when you put the tank back in the locker, you have to turn it to wind up the slack.

I have a couple of pieces of plastic mesh, like you see on the draining boards of sinks or under glasses in bars, under the gas cylinder, which makes it easier to rotate and cuts down rusting of the base of the cylinder.

While you are doing something on the gas system, have a look at the pipe connecting to the stove.  I had a gas engineer check my system and he replaced the rubber hose with a reinforced version, as the oven will lean on the hose when you are on port tack.
