Good morning, I write from Spain (with the google translator), I hope that you are confined well, those of you who have to be at home.
As some of you know, I recently bought a Hanse 345, and I have a question, if anyone can solve it.
When I go to start the engine, and I press the button (on), the fan of the engine compartment starts, but the fan does not stop, it is on all the way that I navigate with the engine started, it only stops when I stop the engine and hit the (off) button. I understand that it should be on for a few minutes and then stop automatically, I don't know if it is. Can someone tell me how yours work.
Thank you.

On my 350 with a Yanmar 3YM20, the fan behaves in exactly the same way as yours. I have read several posts on different forums discussing this fan and there does not appear to be any definitive answer as to it’s purpose; some say for cooling others for ventilation. I believe that the on for a short period type of operation that you described might be appropriate for a petrol engine to clear any petrol vapours prior to starting the engine.

I operated our engine for several months without the fan (took me a while to find the blown fuse) with no obvious ill effects, other than a slight increase in engine bay temperature.

The translator worked well - I hope it is as good from English to Spanish Smile.

I can also confirm that your fan is working as intended.  The fan sucks hot air out of the engine bay and vents it (on my 385) at the rear of the cockpit.  A useful side effect is the hand/foot warmer.

My previous boat didn't have this fan and we got engine fumes in the cockpit so I added a fan to resolve this.

It works fine.
It's purpose is to give the engine a cooler air than the one without the fan, in order to be more durable and efficient.
I turn it on, with a proper switch, if the engine runs more than the five  minutes just to get in/out the marina.
