Hi,

Me Again !!

Has anyone fitted a Fusion entertainment system to a 385 ? Does any of the wiring for speakers or power supplies exist in the factory 385 loom or does it all have to be run from scratch.
Installing a pair pf speakers in cockpit and a pair in cabin. Fusion head unit in cabin with wired remote at helm.

Thanks in Advance

Paul:
Me again too! We put a Fusion MS AV750 in about 4 years ago with a wired remote at the port helm, and I just (last week) upgraded the Clarion speakers that were already in the cabin to Fusion Signature speakers using the existing wires. There were already speakers in the cockpit (one in front of each wheel) when I bought the boat in 2016 and they seem pretty good. All of this is easy to to do, but if I had it to do all over again I would not do the wired remote in the cockpit. The reason is that our B&G Zeus3 can control the AV750 very nicely, and my phone can also control it very well. So the wired remote is very redundant. But I love the Fusion stuff, and their newest units are even slicker. And the newest ones (the ones after the 750) can link to their "Ant" remotes which can be placed anywhere without the need for a wire. Check those out! I am not sure about the existing wiring, as we bought the boat in 2016 and it already had the speaker wiring installed. But running the speaker wires to various spots would not be too difficult I believe. Have fun with the Fusion gear - I think their stuff is worth the slightly higher price.

Hi Again Andy

Thanks for that, will reconsider the wiree remote now. Had a quick look at River Dunes on the map. Looks like a really lovely place to sail from, although not much of that going on right now.

Keep Safe

There was a thread I started back in 2012 (https://www.myhanse.com/cockpit-speakers_topic6941_post53319.html?KW=Fusion#53319) about this issue.

I was lucky - the  wires were pre-installed. I think Hanse stopped this on later boats.

Have a look under the seat in front of the chart table - if there are wires terminating at the front of the space under the seat you are probably in luck. otherwise you'll need a wiring mouse and some patience!

Good luck.
