I have a circular surface fixed light fitting in the main saloon.
There are no visible fixing / retaining screws only a small black plastic on/off rocker switch.
Can anyone help or advise how to disassemble the fitting to replace the bulb.

My saloon lights are all flush mounted spotlights with springs on the back to hold them into the ceiling.  You could try gently prising them off to see if yours are the same.  Watch your fingers as the springs are quite strong and can be painful if you trap your fingers.

The lens pops out then you can see the reataing screws.
To pop out the lens? well;   finger nails,  or at worst push small screwdriver gently between lens and chrome bezel?

I had the same problem many years ago.

If I remember rightly though I am not sure, if you look really hard at the glass then you may see a small indent into which you can use something to leaver the glass off.

I have replaced all the original lamp bulbs with LEDs.
The only one that was difficult to source was for the circular lamp on the salon and above the sink. It is a flat disc with surface mount leds and a two pin connector on the back.
I sourced from a local canal chandlery at a very good price. An alternative would be to try
Boatlamps. I have used them for nav light leds.

I used led's with the dual function: red  for the night and white for the normal use.
