Hi,
My new mainsail is a bit larger than the original one. The top & second battens (and the leech between them) hit the back when tacking or jibing. It's just apron 5-8 cm too long at top of the roach. In (very) light winds I have to "shake" the backstay to allow sail to slide on the other tack. I can live with that but it is no good for the leech with will chafe early. I'm thinking about putting a backstay flicker (from Selden). Does anyone fitted such a flicker over his mast ? (I Have a Selden C211 type mast). Thanks

We had similar problems with our new mainsail, and the Selden 1.4 m backstay flicker solved them. The flicker seems to be quite easy to install to a Selden mast, take a look to seldenmast.com - Masts - Headboxes. With a Sparcraft mast, the work was more difficult.
