Hi all,
So it is that time of the year and my MADaM is up on the hard at Sweden Yachts for a looong list of «todo’s»
A couple of questions,
1.after removing the lock nut on the steering wheel, what is the secret to remove?
2. on the 461 there is a «removable» housing over the steering on each side. Mine has been fastened with a very liberal amount of sikaflex… any hints on how to get this off?
If there are any links on this subject feel free to fwd.
/M

The wheels came off with a puller. Looks like they had not been off for a while.
So onto the housing... I feel if I try and force this anymore I will destroy it. Suggestions anyone?
Has anyone had to replace these covers?

You might try a length of very thin steel wire. One foot long with a wooden “handle” on each end. You could then slice across the top seam on each side and work your way down the sides. Once you cut most thru, you may be able to pry it off without damage.

Tried it... did not work. I could not get around the first corner... the designer of this abomination should be sent to hell with a 1000 of these to disassemble. any damage, you have to start again!

FYI I finally got both off. I spoke to another owner who suggested a VERY thin knife. 2 knives broken but got them, off with very little damage. I serviced the steering and replaced with much less sikaflex!
