I have been having problems for some time with my Webasto Dual Top EVO 6, after burning for a while (sometimes 30 min, sometimes up to about an hour) and working correctly
the display (no digital version) will show 4 red "flashes". The Webasto then goes into some kind of safety, immediately the combustion is stopped and cold air is blown in until everything has cooled down and this stops after about 10 minutes. When I want to restart the Webasto, I have had varying results. Sometimes it is possible to switch the Webasto back on after 5 minutes so that it can burn again for 30-60 minutes, sometimes it is already after 5 to 15 minutes that the same error message appears in the display.

This is what the manual of the Webasto dual top EVO 6 says with this error code (4 red flashes):
Fuel pump disconnection/short circuit/overheating.
Check fuel pump cable and connectors, check for overheating (see faults 06 and 07), reset heater (by
switching off for at least 5 sec.)

And this is "error 06" they refer to:
Overheating or exceeding gradient water temperature sensor.
Check water level, reset heater (by switching off for at least 5 sec.) or select winter mode, heating
without hot water production

And this is "error 07"
Overheating or exceeding gradient hot air temperature sensor.
Ensure that hot air can flow freely, air intake and outlets are not blocked.
Reset heater (by switching off for at least 5 sec.)

Now I have already tried the following:
  • Checked the diesel hose for air bubbles.
  • Checked the hose connections of the diesel hose/pump so that everything is tightened properly.
  • Checked the electronic cable of the diesel pump, it was in good condition.
  • A diesel filter was missing during the installation (I did not install it myself), so I have placed one myself in front of the diesel pump.
  • Let the Webasto run on Tunap 134 (a cleaning liquid for injectors).

So everything seems to be correct on the diesel side, my thoughts now go to the air temperature sensor (inside the Webasto, not the thermostat sensor) and the overheating sensor which is also inside the Webasto.
After some research it turns out that both the diesel pump, the air temperature sensor, the overheating sensor and the water temperature sensor are all on the same circuit and would therefore always give the same error code (although I find it strange why the error code 06 and 07 exists..).

1 time in the past several attempts I managed to get the Webasto to run normally for more than 2 hours (and longer, I eventually turned it off manually).
And that was when I disconnected 1 of the 2 warm air exhaust hoses from the Webasto. However, there is nothing blocking the warm air outlet, the warm air can flow freely.

So it seems logical to me that either the air sensor or the overheating sensor is "broken" and therefore interrupts the circuit after a while.

But before I replace those costly pieces, I would like to know if anyone else has the same problem and how they managed to solve it?
Other ideas are certainly welcome too!
