Hi all, I'm trying to figure out how to convert the sofa into a bed on a Hanse 385. I have two extra cushions, but I've no idea how to fit it together.
I'm guessing that the table doesn't move, it looks pretty sturdy. So what supports the cushions to bring them up to the same level as the sofa? I think that this is a 2015 model.

Our 2016 385 came with the factory fitted sofa bed option. There's a pull out section under the sofa cushion, a plywood frame that slides out and a wedge shaped single cushion as infill. This cushion is additional to any back or sides of the sofa. It makes a good sea berth but didn't seem like much for £1500

Goat is correct, the starboard settee has a pull out section (if you ticked that option when buying the boat), lift the seat cushion and you should be able to see that the front of the seat pulls out almost as far as the table. We (a 385) have 2 cushions that then fit between the existing seat cushion and the table, makes quite a big double bed, and in a seaway its impossible to fall out so its a great sea berth on a passage, being close to the middle of the boat too.

Hello CadetWilson, my Hanse 385 (2016), just as the one from Goat above, also has one (1) cushion that nearly fits on the pull-out section of the starboard settee. In all fairness, it might be a bit tricky to pull out the underneath area as I don’t think it sits on wheels that would ease the motion and with the wood working, the pull-out section can sometimes jam on each side. Perhaps it helps to take out any gear you may have in storage under your settee and try to pull out both sides evenly (some rocking back and forth proofed useful). As mentioned higher up, once the base is almost touching your saloon table it’s a solid berth as the table top (if folded down) forms a snug barrier that holds you in place.
