I have a new 430e. The cockpit locker on the floor of the cockpit leaks significantly everytime I wash down. It seam as thow the two drains are not sufficeint and the water pours in over the top. The seal seems to be in place. Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

Ours does the same, which I put down to a combination of insufficient rubber to create a seal and inadequate drains. Then there is the issue of no bilge pump in the locker itself.......

I have the same problem on my new 430. Mainly due to inadequate rubber seals. Hanse have promised to replace them with seals that work but no joy just yet. I've seen improved seals fitted by Hanse UK on another boat and they seemed to do the trick

If you look at the desgn of the hatch you will see it does not rely on a perfect seal . If the drains are clear and i mean the pipes ,then it will more than cope with rain or a hosepipe. My rubber seals have come unstuck but sinse i dismantled the drains and cleaned the crud that had pluged them problem solved

hi Guys
all you need to do it seal it properly with rubber. the depth of the channel on the 430 is too low (compared to the 470) hence fills up very quickly so it's important you have excellent rubber to make a perfect seal. Shawn |

I just changed the drains to 30mm inside diameter instead of the I guess 13mm which the first bend from the drains are reduced to,. It worked perfectly and when I washed down today, no water inside, even with what I took to be imperfect seals. Cost about €100 for the brass bits here in Croatia.

Hi
I have the same problem, because my rubber fell off. What kind of glue work on this rubber?
