Hi all,

Since myhanse.nl was mentioned I thought to comment.

I am the one keeping myhanse.nl forum in the air.

The forum is hardly used for things like we talk about on myhanse.com

I thought to pack it in but when I looked at the amount of visitors I wil keep it going.

576 downloads for weather and tide information.
400 waypoint dowloads
346 Staande mast downloads
346 Special Hanse insurance discount downloads.

The amount of visitors without leaving any comment is very high and counting.

I assume all these  downloads are from Dutch people and therefore I will keep it on-line.

I have been asked to moderate the Dutch part on myhanse.com but I think looking at my own forum there is no need for it. It's like Marcel says. The best lingo for this forum is English.

I do not read Italian,Swedish, Norwegan, Danish, Spanish etc etc. I think a lot of good information could get lost with all these different languages

Who in the hell speaks Dutch for a start ??, although my four year old grandson has no problem with it.

I know in Holland we learn English at school from first grade while in other countries they  don't.

Like Marcel says, there are enough possibilities to have your text translated into English through different internet sites and if the translation is not very good most of us will be able to understand the issue.

Personally I vote to keep this forum in English only. I have taken advantage of the knowledge from this forum and have no idea about what people in other lingo's are talking about.

Regards, Willem

ps. I will leave the Netherlands on the 16th for a trip to Whitby which is on the east coast of north Yorkshire in England from Den Helder in the north of Holland with 4 guys on a Elan 34 footer and hope to enjoy myself.

Will let you know how it all goes.

Hi Johan,

I think you would be surprised how many Swedes are on this forum while the Swedes are like the Dutch and speak very good English (I know by experience) and I don't think they have a language barrier, so there you are.

All Swedes response to this and Johan will know how many there are o.k ?

Although there are few Americans on the myhanse forum (due to limited sales in US), those of us who are involved very much appreciate your willingness to conduct much of the forum in English.  Unfortunately, US education has for decades been very self centered and foreign languages almost an afterthought.  I'm pleased to say that more modern education standards have become more expansive and see a world beyond our own shores.  So, at least my 6 grandchildren will be able to be more conversant with many of you in your native language.  Until the, please keep speaking English to me.  Thanks.

I am defenetly awaiting french sites. Like it has been said Americains dont speak foreign languages because english is all over.
This being said, "myhanse " is a forum and its reason to live is to generate exchange between owners on there good and bad experiences.
To often explanations are technical and having to refer to a dictionary makes understanding a heavy work out.
Hanse is all over France lets do it..:-))

Dear owners

I donīt really like to spread the information on a Babilon tower of subforums.

We all have to recognize English is the vehicle of international business.

I call to the non English speaker posters to make an effort and post in English to the benefit of this community.

I agreeClap (since I found out that my Swedish is a bit rusty, as well as my Italian).
