Any thoughts on attaching leecloths in the aft cabins?
More importantly where to attach the forward top strongpoint. On the 495 there is the thin moulded headboards, not strong enough to screw into.
I was thinking of using suction pads, or a strongpoint in the bulkhead forward (where the cabin door is) obviously downside is you would get decapitated by the rope crossing the cabin...

We took delivery of our new 495 in July this year.  Sleeping in the forward cabin is next to impossible under rough conditions.  One does get airborne on occasion and the landing spot is not always the same as the take-off location!  Compared to the forward cabin's problems, there is very little problem in the aft cabins as one can shore up to the side panels plus there is far less movement. We use the saloon seats as final retreat if the aft cabins are occupied.  (Would it not be great if Hanse would consider lowering the saloon table to make this a large double bed as an added feature, possibly with lee cloths?!).

Related to this is the total lack of handrails and/or other secure holds in the forward cabin.  This can be outright dangerous under rough conditions and we are looking to attach grab rails.  Any suggestions?

Sorry this has not answered your question........

I did attach lee cloths (and later replaced them with lee boards) in the starboard aft cabin of my 495 in order to keep my two baby boys (1.5 years this summer) in bed securely.

I just drilled one hole into the clothes hanger in that cabin (on the starboard side wall) and one into the clothes hanger of the port cabin right left of the reading light of the starboard cabin. By putting two ring bolts into the two holes I had very suitable strongpoints.

But keep in mind that my "lee cloth" was oriented port to starbord at the forward end of the beds. So probably not what you wanted to achieve.
would love to go back to sailing like summer 2012 (5.5 months from Slovenia to Turkey with wife and 4 little kids)
