Fendant, no I did not contact anyone yet.
Perttu, the problem is, that the deviation is almost 0 in northern and southern courses, but east-west it is about 15 degrees. So I would need a deviation table instead of one value.
My boat is already winterized, so I think the problem will remain until next summer.

Hi Matilda,
looks as we have the same problem with a serious deviation on certain courses. The result on my boat is that the AP makes a hefty correction of 20 - 30 deg on certain courses even when you only enter 3 or 5 degs on the OP 10.
Did you also calibrate the AP first and the Flux as 2nd step?

Perttu,  constant 7 degs dev. would be fine for me do you have the same value all around the compass rose?

I will watch further comments in this thread and then contact Simrad. Like Matilda my boat is winterized and any remedies can only be tested in April.

Hi
Once I succeeded in calibrating both. It helped a little, but did not last long. Then I have had the same problem, not been able to calibrate the compass. It just does not get completed.
And yes, it's very exciting to use AP, when it makes large corrections specially in our archipelago.

Hi
I visited my boat and found the compass under the storage locker floor. I have had my tools and a cordless drill just above the compass. So I guess they are at least partly the reason for the deviation.
I will definitely find a new place for them.
More information will follow after long and dark winter months.

Hello Raimo,

I had also my tools and the cordless drill there. However before winterizing the boat I removed everything and tried to calibrate the flux. The result was unfortunately Cry the same.
