After taking delivery of my new Hanse 505 and sailing around Denmark over the last few weeks all I can say is all good. We have had winds up to 25kts and at all times she has preformed with out a hitch.

I have added a gennaker which has been great for the lighter winds and up to 15kts with boat speeds up to 10.2kts.

I am here at Greifswald right now getting a couple of things adjusted and fitting a stern arch / davit for the Zodiac.

a 505 always had a good reputation as a fast boat :) when i was windsurfing some 20 years ago, we played with the 505 (open sailboats, with a length of 5m and 5cm) Big smile
I wish you a good experience with a beautiful ship !
First 4000 miles, no substantial problems

Hi all I have some bad news after my post yesterday.

I have some rarther disappointing news about the way Hanse head office in Greifswald handle warranty issues with their products. I am moored here at the Hanse Marina in Greifswald to have some minor issues attended to and they are not at all helpful. See email below.
They say its not their fault even though the build the yachts. So good luck to new Hanse Yacht buyers.

"Sorry Andy it´s not a Hanse fault.

As I understand it under hanse's agreement with their dealers, responsibility for defects passes to the dealer. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm sure that's what I heard. I guess this excludes latent defects in the basic build.

Hi, You maybe wright about that , I am not sure how their system works.

But its a bit hard to believe that when you are at their marina where the deliver boats in the water ready to sail that as a company they don't take enough pride in their product to bother to get somebody here in their employ to take a look or get somebody here at the marina to rectify the problem.

I have read my times on this forum where people have said " phone Hanse head office and they will get it fixed"

The dealer is in the Baltic and he is doing his bit via the Hanse system but Hanse are not responding in a friendly and timely manner.

I have been in touch with B & G directly and now have some action.

Some of the rigging problems have been sorted by the riggers here at the yard as they rigged the boat in the first place.

Its just that's is like climbing a mountain when its only 1cm high.
