A very nice boat.. I was in Dusseldorf boat show and I checked it very closely..
From my opinion, in considering the size of the boat, there is too much space for the capt'n and crew. Minus that space, you have the same space like 588 to yourself.. I would think that 588 already has almost all of the same features of a 675 other than C-Zone and some minor toys like the electrical sunroof etc.. The price paid VS the gains, the time spent on the boat, I think, I would rather have a 588 i/o 675. However, this is only if you are planning to sail the boat your self and need maybe a little help from someone time to time..588 is already a big boat to manage as well so may need help time to time.. If you are OK with captn' + crew , than I think, the boat gives you enough privacy and that is what you buy with that extra money and some more extra features.. You will need to consider the comfort gained from this size ( your personal preferences ) VS the price and the discomfort that you will also get .. The discomfort could be: You would NEED a crew for a boat this size...If you do not need crew / than why all that space for the crew inside the boat ??? Why not 588 ? Mooring is a problem...How to find a suitable escape/ anchor area in storm conditions is very important... Sometimes, more is NOT better in the sea..These are just my humble opinions.. |

I was on a 675 at the factory while building our 575. Its a *HUGE* boat. My thinking at the time was that its really better suited for the charter industry with permanent crews and a need for all that space. its a bit too "push-button" for me. Push a button and trim the main. Push a button and trim the genoa. Etc.. I'm sure a few people will buy them as personal boats, but its very difficult to find space for a boat that size in New England these days. Our 575 is plenty big and we are happy with it. I also assume that if you have the money to drop on a 675 you could also buy an Oyster, a Hylas or other non-production boat. Buying the 675 versus another boat makes more sense for the charter industry than it does for those individuals with 7 figures burning a hole in their pocket. FWIW
