Wtf!!! This is really impressive... I have the air conditioning and less available space (also 588), but where the bus bars for distribution have gone? Can you explain how the batteries are divided? Do you have the standard mastervolt charger? This is totally impressive and cheaper than lithium ion...
I realise you guys have different orientations: in my opinion, you are putting 3x firefly in the place of two victron or q-battery... There is a net advantage, then! Edited by Pzucchel - 26 January 2021 at 22:47 |

This boat has the large A/C option, and one of the units is just in front of the forward 6 batteries. In order to condense the space, solid bar was used instead of jumpers and a new bus bar was built. The original charging equipment is still in use. As you can imagine, this was no small project.

A very clean install and no shortage of juice there! Seems like a lot of weight on the starboard side. I'd think at least 500lbs more than our 6 Firefly bank. Did you need to do anything to the trim of the vessel? With 700 watts of solar, the 6 Firefly's do well enough for us. The generator can deal with the occasional poor solar day. We have an SIMARINE monitor and it handles solar as well as the rest of our needs. Here its showing 35 amps going into the batteries. Actually there is a middle panel not showing up here. so its probably more like 40+ amps. Plenty for a quick recharge. ![]() Nice job. Rick Edited by Black Diamond - 27 January 2021 at 01:23 |
