I am not sure why any one would use the extremely dated and expensive Fusion systems which also offer mediocre sound quality at best.When there are many wireless systems out there.I have Sonos onboard played through my boat network with Tidal and when out of range just switch over to my library on my iPad.No wires no fuss and the speakers are moisture proof and can be placed in a protected area of the cockpit too.

I agree that Fusion is expensive but for me it is a better fit than Sonos (which I use at home) because:

* N2K. I like controlling if from the helm without having to fiddle with a phone

* fixed marine speakers rather than something that will go flying when we fall off a wave. Don't think "moisture proof" and offshore sailing are compatible!

* Bluetooth streaming vs ethernet on Sonos. I have only just started to run a boat WiFi 24/7 and I'm guessing many boats won't have this.

* 12V without having to plug in to recharge.My Sonos is AC only which rules it out for me

Prior to installing the Fusion I used a Jambox Bluetooth speaker which did a great job.and would be my budget recommendation.

Thanks for all the comments - much appreciated- Im waiting for a new 460 but we did not order the Sound system and we plan to do what Ian has done- will be interesting to locate the speakers as the factory ones on our 388 just entertained the yachts behind us not our boat!! very strange logic facing them backwards.
