Our Yanmar Hour-meter has not worked for years.
But today I replaced the LCD and got it working again.
The display was sourced from  http://www.akspeedo.com/vdo-lcd-repair.php" rel="nofollow - http://www.akspeedo.com/vdo-lcd-repair.php
The difficult part was getting the thin black dice with the rpm loose from the case because it was glued.

nice job.

Is it possible to replace the lens of the tachometer? Was this glued on or did it just have a rubber gasket holding it on? I have the Volvo D1-30 which looks to have the same VDO 85mm tachometer but my lens is cracked, otherwise it and the screen work perfectly.

The lens comes off the VDO tachometer when disasembly.
In the last picture I have the guts of the tachometer and it is standing upside down in the lens and the loose plastic gasket.

Did anyone on this thread find out where to get the perspex cover for the rev counter from? I have tried Yanmar/Barrus but they seem only to supply the whole unit 🤔🤞
