Hi all, me here again asking for information on my new hanse 375!
I need to replace the ropes of the boat: main halyard, spinnaker halyard, main sheet, vang, and the backstay. I looked everywhere online and even found an online database with length and diameter of all the ropes. I cannot find it anymore but I seem to recollect that the two halyards were 36.7 m and 12mm diameter. I wanted to buy the ropes online as there is a bigger choice of colours and I can save something. But I want to make sure that length and diameters are correct. For example, on the online database, the diameter of the sheets was 14mm, which seems to me enormous! Could any of you share with me the length and diameter of the ropes listed above? Unfortunately, the boat is 1000km away and measuring the existing ropes is not an option.... Thanks, Umberto

Dont' know if it works with https or plain http. I use dyneema everywhere and use one number smaller dimension. This to insure a smoother/easy pull when the ropes has to pass through a lot of obstacles. So 12mm to 10mm 10 to 8mm Kept the mainsheet at 12mm |

Just a quick question: Mainsail - sheet (SW. skot) 21,50 and Mainsail - sheet 13,95...I guess the first is the mainsheet, the one you kept at 12mm, and the other? Thanks, Umberto

It is forum member Marco that has wesailhasnse.se. I also used Marco's measurements when replacing all the robes. The mainsheet in the cockpit is 12mm dyneema because it feels better in the hand and it does not go into the mast. Also the old polyester 12mm had stretched so it was only 10mm at some places - indicating a high level of wear. So I kept it at 12mm. I don't why Marco has 2 lengths for Mainsheet. Mine is 15 meters and I use it on a electric winch at the helm. All the rope are Gleistein Cruise XP dyneema from svb24.com btw. Dyneema line acts very differently from Polyester line. I have had knots that untie them selves where Polyester in the same situation would have kept the knot. Need to use needle and thread or tape to secure the knot - this is important! also line-ends need different handling Edited by H8jer - 12 February 2022 at 14:32 |

Super useful info! Thanks. Price-wise the cruise xp is not bad, either. I'll think about whether to use polyester or switch to dynema core.
Also, give me a few months to prepare "Marianna" and make her properly beautiful - that's how my 375 is called - and then I will properly introduce her to the forum. In the meantime, I will keep asking questions...

Think I Mean that there are two lengths mentioned on your page for the mainsail sheet.. I use german sheeting and not a sheet on a traveler in the cockpit.. Are your 2 lengths for each sheeting method? /H8jer

Since it might be useful to others, here are my measurements now that I have changed some of the lines.
main halyard: 39m (10mm dynema core) main sheet: 20m (12mm polyester) vang: 14m (10mm polyester) topping lift: 38m (8mm polyester) Ciao, Umberto
