Happy New Year everyone! Let’s hope 2022 brings great sailing.
As our thoughts turn to the new year, I am starting to plan the work to be done in this close season. Our boat comes out of the water in February for four weeks and I am considering dropping the rudder to check the bearings. We have had her six years from new and wonder if it is not time to do some proper checking. Other than a visual check and squirting copious amounts of grease where the rudder post meets the hull, I have trusted the quality of the Hanse build. Has anyone experience of this? Any advice for someone taking on this for the first time? |

Have you seen this video? I always check for play whenever she comes out the water. I guess if (when) I find some I’ll drop the rudder.
Jefa have some other videos on YouTube which are quite good too
