Hello
Does anyone replace is rudder on a 312 hanse from 2004. for Jefa’s Rud 34 model?
If so, can you tell me if the top angle of the rudder corresponds to the required angle?
On my current rudder there is too much space between the hull and the top of the rudder. Can you tell me if jefa rud34 rudder stop the  vibrations ? (knowing that my hanse as a tiller.)

Thank you for your help because, I want to make sure that Jefa rudder eliminates vibrations and atheights the lack of height....

As stated by Jefa when I ordered my RUD34 for the 342, every Jefa rudder is custom built and according to the customer's specifications and approval. They have a set-up which fits the 342, but you can get what you want. My top angle is 87.26 degrees, you will have to measure your own to get it right.

I have a 311 2003 mod with tiller. Replaced the rudder due to grounding four years ago. Jefa RUD34. For my ship I chose 83 degrees. Not a perfect fit but acceptable. You will have to measure yourself. Normal vibrations when motoring, smooth when sailing. However when algae grow on the rudder it will vibrate slightly. Good traction, broach easily avoided. Good luck!

Thank you very much for your help. I’m in contact with Jefa and your information will help me find the right rudder.

Bon Jour Éric,
I woulds be interested to know why you are buying a new rudder?.
It is a relatively straight forward boatbuilding job to build a new rudder. As you already have the shell that could be split and removed from shaft, the time consuming molding work is already done.
A new shaft for example might be :- material cost eur 200. turning and milling the keyway and holes for tangs [the pins that stop shell rotating on shaft 400 euro, tangs and fitting tangs 200].
GRP work to fix tangs in place on half shell, fill with structural foam and finish joining the two halves. Finish and fair the joints. A better rudder can be made by fitting a bushat top of shell with "O" ring [toroid joint] seals to shaft and laminated to the shell. Earlier Jefra designs just used Sika flex to seal in this area with instruction to regularly check and replace? I dont know where your based but can reccommend a boatbuilder in La Rochelle.
I would expect the Jefra option  to cost >2500 euro

Jefa seems serious and listening to my problem. I think they’ll be able to modify the rudder34 and adapt/adjust it perfectly to the 312 hanse with a tiller...

I do believe that hanse has very badly designed and made this part of the boat...

If you get vibrations when only using the engine then that is just turbulance from the prop. If you a higher frequence "hum" when sailing, this is an uneven vortex sheading issue, but is easy to fix

I agree with you. But vibrations are so strong that they are due to more than a propeller problem ...
