Thanks for being so helpful! I did see those posts. I will attempt to measure when I'm at my boat, and post my measurements back to the 320 forum for future reference.
cheers

On my H355 I swapped crapy original block for a Harken Black Magic HR 57 mm block (ref 3216).
Works great since 10 years although expansive.

I've used the diagram from the Hanse specs to estimate the mast height where the jib sheet come out. It looks to be 7.5m just below the top spreader.
so double that =15m
plus cabin top approx 3m, plus a bit of play from the self tacking block- 2m
So 22m
I think if I get 24m I will be safe. Fingers crossed.

Hold on. You have made a mistake I think. You have not allowed for the length to the jib when it is furled. I have a 311 & my jib sheet is over 30 metres. You have forgotten the 3 metres to the furled sail & back again so 24 m plus 6  = 30 metres
Have I got that right? I also take my sheet back to the genoa winch, via a block on the rail. Sometimes to the winch on the stern quarter, which is there for the asymetric. . That leaves a clutch free for extra controls so instead of 3 M on deck it takes 4 M plus half a metre for the tail. I can reach the genoa winch from the helm which is important as I single hand & have a tiller & a traveller, so cannot move forward easily.
I suggest that you mouse the old sheet, remove it & measure it rather than guess. Then add a bit for the spliced loop.

Thanks Samuel! You are completely right. I will actually measure once I'm on my boat. I didn't account for the furl!  Phew! You saved me from wasting my money! cheers
