Has anyone relocated the start battery nearer the engine compartment on a 400? If so did you find a good compromise of battery size & location?
I’ve realised that would allow me to squeeze a 3rd LiFePO4 battery in under the Nav seat. My charging solution has also got simpler so would make the separation of the banks easier. Some Hanse models have a battery in the engine bay above the engine. That’s not ideal but may be one option as an example. Thanks Mark

My solution for a larger capacity is this: 3 x AGM 90Ah and 1 x 100Ah Lead acid in battery compartment. 3 x AGM 90Ah in compartment in front of the galley. 2 x 100 Ah Lead acid (24V) in front of water tank for the bow thruster. The AGMs are divided in two groups, 180Ah for anchor and electric winch, and 360 Ah for service. Cables between AGM groups through drilled holes in the fibreglass. you could consider a small agm starter battery to safe some space. I have 38ah but even 20ah would be sufficient if the battery can handle the high current. Redflash is an expensive but very good option.
I have 1x 300ah + starter in the compartement.

On my H355 engine battery (90 ah !) sits on a shelf just above Saildrive in engine bay.

Thanks folks. I’ll let you know the outcome. I’m thinking an 60-90Ah AGM battery will squeeze in under the port bunk. Especially if it doesn’t have to be vertical.
