Hi All,
I have replaced the original diesel and water tanks sender sensors with new and more effective Philippi sensors. It was something I wanted to do for a long time as the original sensors were not working properly. With the diesel sensor I had no problem; it was a plug and play trick as the original sensor was connected via a 2 wire (30 to 180 ohm) sensor as the philippi one. With the water sensor instead I am having difficulties. The original sensor was connected to the main switchboard through a 5 wire cable. From the instruction manual of the DC Panel TEV0605 I read: Coding Plug The water level can be read over a 5-wire sensor or a 2 wire 3...180 ohm sensor. By default a 5-wire sensor is assumed. If the 100% value of the 5-wire sensor of the connector will be reconnected to the ground, is no longer the 5-wire sensor in use but the 2 wire 3... 180 ohm sensor. This accounts for both water sensors, independently from each other. Additionally, it is possible to completely configure water sensor out of the display and alarm handling (see 3 Configuration). So I connected the philippi sensor to the white and the grey cable (see picture below) On the other side of the cable, I have tried connecting it to the different slots of the main switchboard hoping to find the Water Tank one, with no luck. I believe the connection is ok and the sensor works perfectly and the evidence of that is that if I use the second diesel tank slot the sensor is giving me the right reading (see picture below). It would be nice to be able to reconfigure the DC Panel in order to replace the “Diesel 2” tag with “Water Tank”; does anyone know if this is at all possible? Alternatively, does anyone know where the Water Tank slot is on the main switcboard and/or if I made some mistake in the connection? Many thanks for your help! ![]() I might have found the answer to my question. Enclosed is snapshot from the TEV 0605 panel where I have circled the section showing how the slots are displaced. It also show that ground wire should be connected on the right plug where instead I have done the opposite. Next time I am on board I will give it a try. Still unsure about how the diesel 2 slot works ... ![]() |

Hi Rich, your photo shows a two pin plug. This will work, when you connect it to 2 pin sensor like a diesel sensor. Reading your circuit picture, the sensor should be connected to the uppermost 5 pin position. Try to repeat what you have done on the other sensor end, only connect the white on Pin 1 and the grey on Pin 5.

My understanding is that I should connect the Philippi sensor to the 3-180 ohm slot dedicated to the water tank. On the main switchboard there are two slot 1-5 pins and two slots 3-180 ohm. I attach an enlarged picture to better explain myself. ![]() I think I need to connect the two pins plug to the second last from the bottom. As I said, I will give it a try the next time I am on board. It it doesn’t work I will read the water tank sensor from the Diesel 2 slot as shown in my picture (unless someone knows how to program the DC Panel and change the description from “Diesel 2” to “water”. Ciao Rich, afaik you can not change the description in the menu of the dreaded WE panel. I was not aware of the two lower 6.1 and 6.2 water connectors, as I went straight to my Philippi TCM tank monitor when i upgraded the tank sensors for Diesel, Water and Waste tanks.
I simply removed them from the WE menu, I only have the voltages for Starter, House and Bow Thruster batteries now. Good luck and cordiali saluti della Svizzera Frank

Hi
I've had to replace my wurth panel due to a lightning strike and the water/diesel connectors have now been changed to mini-molex connectors. Replacing the diesel is ok as there are only two wires but I can't work out the order for the water tanks. Do all wires have to be connected or just the white and the grey? secondly- does anyone know the name/type of the previous connectors (as featured in the photographs above) Thanks

Hello Ariette, if you have not replaced the crappy 5 wire Hanse sensor by something more reliable( like RichZ did) you need to connect all 5 wires for the water tank sensor. BR

Hi Ariette,
They are produced by STOCKO and the model of the connector is RFK 2 MFK 13260, 2-pins. I found them on eBay. If you see from the diagram I posted above you should also be able to find the order of the different slots on the main board. I have connected the two pins connector to the diesel 2 slot and it works perfectly. I now want to try on the Water 1 slot by inverting the two wires in order to have the ground on the correct side and see if I am able to have it work also on the Water tank slot. Cheers, Richard |

I have now got to the bottom of it!
I have bridged the first and the last pin of the 5 pins water slot and connected the two wires 3-180 ohm connection from the Philippi water sensor to the Water 2 slot: eureka! It works ![]() ![]() Below the bridge described above: ![]() |
