Hi
Brought a Renogy 2000w Inverter from a friend, because he wants a 3000w instead. The reason is that we use a lot of Gas for the stove or the Magma grill when at anchor, sometimes just to heat water or heat some food accessories. With this Inverter we could use our 1500w watercooker and 1000w microwave ( not at the same time) Today we came back from a overnight anchor and had 82% left in the lifep04 batteries. So I think 5-15 minutes of Inverter use is not a problem. Our 370 came with a 180w Victron Inverter but I have never used it. It also looks like the Inverters from Victron are a bit larger that the Renogy. But I still struggle with finding a good location. When It was unboxed it appear to be larger in size that what I had imagined. Because 2000w is 150A I would like it to be near the housebatteries to awoid thick long cables. I have looked for a suitable location, but would like to hear from others where they have found place for such a thing? Kind regards

50 mm2 if your inverter is less than 1m (2X1m) away from busbar
70 mm2 up to 3m (2X3m) 95 mm2 up to 4,5 (2X4,5m) 120 mm2 up to 5,7 m (2X5,70m) ... These will be huge or very thick cables. Do not forget a fuse that match the max power draw

mine is mounted on the bulkhead between the battery box and electrical cupboard immediately below the locker opening.

That's one heck of a piece of kit! How you intend to run the output cables to the equipment you want to power, as that that will also have a bearing on location?

Thx Guys.
One of the locations I consider is in fact the one Yoda uses. Another was under the 'nav'-table, but it would be sub-optimal with visible cabling. At first I dismissed the location Yoda suggest, because some think cables are in the way. But now I am much more dedicated to do same. It forces my to do some re-cabling or tidying up the locker first. With this location I only need the thinner cables suggested by Brufan/Bruno, because it is within half a meter from the busbar and the positive. Ratbasher - I will only intercept the 240v cable from the gallery that goes to the CALIRA panel 421 under the nav-table. The Renogy Inverter has UPS function, so when the boat is connected to shore-power it will use that to power the microwave outlet https://www.myhanse.com/220v-connector-behind-shore-power-panel_topic9770_post94486.html#94486 and the outlet by the sink. I don't what to connect any other outlets otherwise it would also try to power the outlet by the water-heater and that would drain the batteries. I intend to only use the inverter for making coffee and reheating food and like. /H8jer

I'm sure we moved some cables to fit ours in there as we fitted the LiFePo4 battery at the same time together with a few other changes to charging arrangements and equipment. The Renogy UPS function is great and if my invertor dies I will certainly look to go that way.

I put a good quality Cotek 1000W inverter under the Nav Table on our 400. It’s fairly large but quite discrete & I don’t bang my knees on it. Cable routing to batteries is short and kept tight to the underside of the Nav table. It’s also very easy to reach to turn on/off without a remote. I’m about to replace it with a much larger 3000W Cotek & on current plan’s it’s going into the same spot.
