![]() ![]() In the present arrangement there is no suitable earthing point in the vicinity of the switch panel. I am hoping that I can wire into the "dead" side of the ignition switch, through a red and blue terminal so that it is in parallel and only running when the ignition is switched on. Does anyone have experience of doing this? ![]() Old Roger, Figment of Hamble ![]() |

It seems that your boat is equipped with the 3JH4E and B-type instrument panel. In the diagram you will see the Tachometer/hourmeter marked with +/- and red/black wires. You can use those wires for a new hourmeter. If you use the advanced search (any date option), "hourmeter" you can find posts telling about an option to repair the hour-meter if it is no longer working. The counting of hours is still working even if is not possible to read the display. Here is one search result: https://www.myhanse.com/fault-in-rpm-engine-hour-meter_topic9813_post92432.html?KW=hourmeter#92432 Kjeld

Many thanks for that. I need to take another look before taking the plunge.

Hi
In this post I have pictures of how to repair hourmeter by replacing the LCD. I believe there are also youtube videos on this matter.

Buy the LCD from akspeedo
Look at their video Look at both Youtube videos by Lucas Spaniard, as the repair one gives you some useful tips. With all that knowledge, you can probably replace it in less time than you have spent watching the videos.. |
