Hi, does anyone know if the control panel should always have power even when the service batteries isolator is off? We got to the boat today and there was a single solid red light on the panel on the left side of the LCD screen. None of the functions or switches would work. I checked all the fuses and they were all ok, but I also found power going to the panel, even when ‘off’.
I disconnected the power to the panel, waited a bit and re-connected it, the red light didn’t come back on and after turning on the isolator the panel came back to life. The shore power was working, inverter, battery charger and 240 volt system was all on and ok at the time. Any thoughts would as always be much appreciated All the best Paul

Yep Paul, it has permanent power indeed. The red light indicates that some of signals the panel monitors has gone over/below a set limit value. It might indicate that one of batteries has weakened during your absence. Note that the read light stays on unless you confirm by pressing buttons according to the manual.
I think that the Würth panel is THE weakest point in all Hanse boats. I would prefer to have a classic panel with fused switches like the Philippi panel Hanse used before 2012. Edited by Fendant - 06 October 2019 at 18:27 |

Apparently the answer from Hanse is the CZONE technology, which you can see on the 548. It answers both the monitoring problems of the WURTH panel as well as the switch/on/off functionality for boat needs. I will look more closely in Annapolis when I am there. I would personally prefer a bunch of blue sea breakers rather than a smart box / single-point-of-failure, but... |
